A.T. Still University of Health Sciences
A.T. Still University of Health Sciences is a unique institute of higher learning because it focuses primarily on graduate classes related to medical and health studies. Founded in 1892, the Missouri campus was once called the American College of Osteopathy. It later changed its name to the A.T. Still University Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, but most call the campus A.T. Still University of Health Sciences or ATSU-KCOM. This campus later added a College of Graduate Health Sciences and a School of Dentistry and Oral Health. To meet the needs of other students, the university founded a separate campus in Arizona in the 1990s. The university offers all its MPH programs and related programs online.
Master of Public Health Degree Online
A.T. Still University of Health Sciences offers more options than almost any of the other Master’s in Public Health degree programs in Missouri. Its basic program ranks as the number one option for online students. You can get your degree without making a single visit to its Missouri campus. Students must take 12 required courses that include environmental health sciences, fundamentals of research in public health, introduction to public health concepts and epidemiology. You will also need to do a practicum and take some electives that might include community health and social media, health services in the US and global health issues. The university can help you find an organization to work with in your city or state to complete your practicum.
ATSU-CGHS’s Master of Dental Public Health
Another option for MPH students is this program, which emphasizes the importance of dental and oral health. This is actually the only program of its type in the entire world. You’ll learn how oral health can play a key role in a person’s general health, including how certain gum and mouth diseases can spread and what you can do to improve the dental health of others. As an online program, it features video lectures and presentations that you can watch from the comfort of your own home as you interact with your peers and your teachers. This program is suitable for those who want to work with patients in community health facilities and similar organizations.
MPH – Dental Emphasis with a Dental Public Health Residency Certificate
A.T. Still University of Health Sciences designed this program in a way that lets students complete a residency and earn an MPH degree in just 25 months of work. You’ll then meet the prerequisites necessary for sitting for the American Board of Dental Health exam. Accepted students have a bachelor’s degree and passed both parts of the National Board exam. Students take 68 credits that included all the required credits needed for earning an MPH degree. The university accepts part-time students and gives those students up to 49, which is a little over four years, to finish their studies. You’ll meet some of the requirements necessary for becoming a dentist in Missouri or another state through this program.

Missouri State University Springfield
Though some refer to this campus as Missouri State University Springfield, most call it MO State, Missouri State or MSU. The name Springfield comes from the fact that its main campus is in the city of the same name. Established as a normal school that taught education majors hoping to become teachers in the fourth district, which was Springfield, it later added more programs and shifted its emphasis away from education to other subjects. U.S. News & World Report includes it as one of the top colleges in the Midwest. More than 26,000 students now attend MSU.
Master of Public Health
Missouri State offers one of the more flexible Master’s in Public Health degree programs in Missouri because you can pick the type of classes that you want to take and combine different types to complete your degree. You can take classes on its campus during the day, sign up for longer evening and weekend classes and then fill out your schedule with online classes. You also have the option of taking all or the majority of your classes online. It also offers a program that allows undergrads to earn 12 credits towards the MPH program as they work on a bachelor’s degree. The five concentrations available with this program include biostatistics, epidemiology, environmental health sciences, social and behavioral sciences and health services administration.

Saint Louis University
College for Public Health and Social Justice
Saint Louis University is a private university in the city of the same name that retains the affiliation it had with the Roman Catholic Church since its early days. Despite that affiliation, students from all religious backgrounds and denominations are welcome to apply and enroll. Its medical school is the oldest medical school in the United States that is west of the Mississippi River. ARWU, Washington Monthly and Forbes are among the publications that rank it on a national scale. It also appeared on the global college rankings issued by ARWU, Times and U.S. News & World Report.
Master of Public Health, M.P.H., M.S.
Saint Louis University offers one of the best Master’s in Public Health degree programs in Missouri for those who aren’t sure what they want to study because this program has a number of different concentrations that let you customize your degree. You can study behavioral science and health education, biosecurity and disaster preparedness, biostatistics, epidemiology, global health, public health practice, health management and policy or maternal and child health. Students need to take at least 36 credits to finish the program, which includes both your required public health courses and any electives or concentration classes that you take. Saint Louis University also offers more dual degree MPH programs than other schools do, including social work and dietetics programs.

University of Missouri Columbia

The University of Missouri Columbia is the flagship campus in the MU system and the main public university system for the state. Founded in 1838, it ranks as both the oldest university in Missouri and the first public university to open in the western portion of the nation beyond the Mississippi River. Washington Monthly and Forbes as well as ARWU and U.S. News & World Report rank the university as one of the best in the United States. Also called Mizzou, the university ranks among the best in the world and has an enrollment of more than 7,000 graduate students and more than 23,000 undergrads.
Master of Public Health (MPH)
Mizzou accepts students into its MPH program in the fall, spring and summer, but you must submit your application before the deadline for each semester. It is available with an emphasis in health promotion and policy or in veterinary public health. The health promotion and policy is best for those who want to work as a policy advocate. Mizzou offers the only Master’s in Public Health degree programs in Missouri that has an emphasis in veterinary public health. The university also offers certificate programs in graduate public health, epidemiology and global public health. These certificates are available as standalone programs that you complete without earning a degree and as programs that will count the classes that you take as electives towards your degree.
